What this OvO 2 build is

OvO 2 here is a demo of a sequel to the stick-figure platformer OvO. The build says so itself: when you finish its last stretch, a message congratulates you on completing "the Climb", says it hopes you enjoyed the demo and asks you to stay tuned for updates on OvO 2. Treat it as a short preview rather than a full game.

The look is plain black lines on a white background, with a small round-headed runner and a flag marking the end of each level. Hints are written straight onto the walls of the level, starting with "Welcome in OvO 2!" on the first screen.

How to play

Move with the arrow keys. The first screens walk you through the basics one sign at a time:

Left and right to run, and up to jump, as the "Go Up!" sign shows.
Down to slide; a sign announces that it is time to slide through the tutorial.
Smash: a downward slam from the air. A later sign tells you to jump right after a smash, which turns it into a long jump.
Dive: slide while you are in the air.
Wall moves: jump next to a wall to wall-jump, and a further sign shows a key to press while on the wall to climb it.

What is in the demo

The levels are numbered by chapter, from 1-1 through the 2-x stages, with a course select screen to pick where to play. Along the way you meet spikes (one sign groans "Ugh, not THEM again..."), floors that break, walls that move, jump boosts and zones that change the pull of gravity. Coins are scattered through the levels, there are character skins, and somewhere in the demo is a level labelled "Secret Level ?!". A timer is shown, along with options to go back to the start or back to level 1-1.

Tips

Read every sign. The tutorial adds one move at a time, and later levels assume you know all of them.
Use the smash-then-jump combination to cover long gaps that a normal jump cannot clear.
On tall walls, chain wall-jumps or use the climb move instead of trying to clear them in one leap.
Keep exploring: the demo hides a secret level.
